Most times, our first instinct is to take our kids to the hospital for medical treatment when they are ill. No parents want to spend even a minute watching their child wallowing in pain and discomfort.
While many parents naturally seek medical help for their sick children, they often forget to seek God’s face for healing.
Hence, I took the liberty to provide “healing prayers for my son” in this article. If your son is ill, praying is one of the best forms of care you can give him.
Each of the prayers I have provided has a Bible verse attached. This is to ensure that when you pray, you will do so according to God’s word.

Jeremiah 33:6 (NIV) – Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and let them enjoy abundant peace and security.
Dear God, thank you for the blessing of this child. He is my bundle of joy and one of my reasons for living.
This is why his current pain and discomfort fill me with so much heartache. Please stretch your hands upon him and call him out of his sick bed.
Please give me the strength and courage to nurse him back to health. I ask that you bring health and healing to him. Restore his strength and bring back the sparkle that was once in his eyes.

Mark 9:23 (NIV) – If you can? Said, Jesus. Everything is possible for one who believes.
Heavenly Father, your specialty is doing the impossible. This is why the Bible says that all things are possible with you. The doctors have said there’s barely any hope that my son will be cured of this cancer he’s battling. But I refuse to accept their report because I know there’s hope for him through Jesus.
Therefore, I ask, Lord, that you step in and do what only you can in my son’s life. Touch him with your healing hands and clear every cancerous cell in his body. Keep my faith alive as I wait on you to perfect his health and healing.

Mark 5:34 (NIV) – He said to her, Daughter, your faith has healed you; go in peace and be freed from your sufferings.
Abba Father, thank you for your protection over my son today. Though he sustained injury from an accident, your mercy preserved his life. For this, I am most grateful.
Lord Jesus, ease his discomfort and soothe all the pains he’s feeling. Above all, I ask that you grant quick healing and recovery from his injuries.

James 5:14 (NIV) – Is anyone of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.
Great Physician, you commanded us to go to the church’s elders to be prayed for when sick.
Therefore, I stand as an elder and a priest over my son and declare his healing today. As I anoint him, let your hand come upon him.
Dear Lord, be by his side and comfort him through these trying times. Keep him mindful of your ever-loving presence and let him find comfort in it.
Thank you because I’m hopeful his health and smile will be restored soon enough.

Isaiah 41:10 (NIV) – So do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Almighty God, there has been great fear in the world since the pandemic. I did all I could to protect _______ from contacting the virus, observing every precautionary to no avail. There has been an increase in the number of people dying from this virus, and I fear for my little boy.
You said you would have mercy on whom you please. Please Lord, may it please you to have mercy on my son. Even in my fears, I still believe that you can heal him and rescue him from the mouth of the grave.

2 Timothy 1:7 (NIV) – For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline.
Balm of Gilead, you are the giver of life and healing. Please comfort and relieve my dear son suffering from a chronic mental disorder (mention the illness). I ask that your healing power rest upon him and restore his mind.
Lord, silence all the chaotic voices in his head and relieve him from every despair, restlessness, and distress. Make him responsive to his medications, treatment, and therapy.

Healing Prayer for My Son in Hospital.
Isaiah 58:8 (NIV) – Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear, then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your guard.
Gracious God, speak your word and heal my son. We have spent several days in this hospital, and the bills are piling up. Yet, there is no improvement so far in my son’s health.
Dear Lord, I come to you with my burden and ask that you give me and my son rest. Please visit my son on his sickbed, and heal him. Speak your word and cause the ailment ravaging his body to cease. Let his healing come fast so we can be back on his feet.
Thank you, Powerful Healer, because I believe you have heard me and will grant my request.

2Corinthians 12:9 (NIV) – But he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.
Awesome God, I understand that long-distance relationships are not the easiest. But I know that two people can make it work if they agree to work together. Therefore, I pray that you will bring reconciliation to the current rift between my son and his partner.
Please give them the grace and wisdom to fight for their relationship and save it from falling apart. Rekindle their love for each other in their hearts and remind them of the reason they started this relationship.

John 6:2 (NIV) – And a great crowd of people followed him because they saw the miraculous signs he has performed on the sick.
Father in Heaven, I call you a miracle worker because no man can do the things you do. My son’s current health challenge appears to be hopeless. But I know that as long as you are for us, nothing can stand against us, not even this illness.
Dear Lord, please do a new thing in my son’s life. Breathe life into his lungs and let his systems resume their normal functions. Above all, perform a miracle in life so that men may see this and glorify you.

Psalm 147:3 (NIV) – He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
My Powerful Healer, your word says that you are close to the brokenhearted and heal their wounds. I commit my dear son, who is emotionally unstable, into your hands. I want to be there for him, but I don’t have the right words to lift his spirit.
Therefore, Lord, I pray for a miracle emotional healing for him. Please encourage and comfort him and let your word bring him healing. Above all, Fill him with the joy of the Holy Spirit and peace like a river.

20:32 (NIV) – And now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
Sovereign Lord, I desire to see my son flourish spiritually. My responsibility as a parent is to meet his physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Please help me in achieving this by drawing my son closer to you.
I ask that you whet his spiritual appetite and cause him to yearn for you. So that like a deer panting after the water, his heart will pant after you.

Lord, the enemy meant to take my son’s life through the illness he just recovered from, but you caused your mercy to prevail over him. May all praises, adoration, and glory be yours forever, dear God of my salvation.
