Patience and the ability to persevere in challenges are essential virtues many lacks. It isn’t easy to exercise patience in our fast- pace world. Today, we have fast foods, drive-thru, and instant deliveries that make patience nearly impossible.
However, as believers, we should be careful not to get carried away by the impatience displayed in the world today. God can’t be rushed; neither is He working according to our time. So, we must learn to trust Him and wait patiently for Him.
I understand that this may not be easy. Hence, I have written these prayers for patience and perseverance to help you build these virtues.

Galatians 6:9 (NIV) – Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Psalm 127:5-6 (NIV) – Blessed is the man whose quivers are full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies at the gate.
Abba Father, there are times when I feel you are punishing me with these children. Right now, I don’t feel like they are a blessing. They are adorable on some days, but there are days that they are just a thorn in my flesh. I’m trying right now to bear the frustrations, but it’s not working out.
So, I ask that you take over my heart and calm my temper. I ask that you drown my anger in your peace.
Lastly, Lord, I pray for patience to handle these kids. Please allow me to correct and discipline them in love and not out of anger.

Hebrews 12: 11 (NIV) – No discipline seems pleasant at the time but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
Great God, it’s a privilege to be in school, and I do not take it for granted. Hence, I ask that you give me the grace to do my best. Help me study hard to be a good ambassador of the kingdom in school through consistently excellent academic performances.
Lord, help me to subject myself to the rigor of studentship so I can have a better future. Above all, may the future I see be my greatest motivation even when it becomes difficult.

In our day, love has been romanticized as a fairytale that can’t stand the taste of time.

Psalm 127:3-4 (NIV) – Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons in one’s youth.
Awesome God, thank you for the rare privilege to raise a child for and with you. I ask for the wisdom to parent these children to the best of my ability. Bless me with the patience I need to meet the needs of each one of them.
Lord, assist me to raise them in your fear and knowledge. I ask for the grace to nurture them into godly seeds that will not be afraid to shine as light.
Finally, dear God, I know that parenting is hard work, so I ask for the grace and patience to do the work diligently.

Isaiah 40:31 (NIV) – But those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength, they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.
Holy Father, bring me to the place where I can trust you completely. Your word says that those who wait on you renew their strength. Therefore, I ask you to give me the grace to stay with you and seek your face.
Enable me to wait on you when I need to make big or small decisions. I also ask that you help me lean on you and not on my own understanding, for my understanding has consistently failed me. So, give me the patience to wait on you until my change comes.

Romans 15:5 (NIV) – May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus.
Faithful God, I especially ask that you encourage my husband and imbue him with the grace to persevere in all things. My sincere prayer is that you will teach him to trust you with every detail of his life. Help him to stop making hasty decisions that always backfire on us.
Bless him with patience at home and as he relates with others in his workplace. Also, teach him the value of tolerance and respect for others. Fill his heart with peace because he is always in haste and impatient.

Grant me the grace to stand firm and remain faithful to my faith. Assist me in getting rid of everything that stands as a distraction to me.

Lamentation 3:25- 26 (NIV) – The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait patiently for the salvation of the Lord.
Heavenly Father, please release upon me the spirit of grace and supplication. I ask that you will not only teach me to pray. But that you will help me pray. I receive the power to stay in the place of prayer until I receive the answers to my prayers.
Lord, I ask that you teach me discipline in prayer. May I not be a chatter-box when I come into your presence. Give me patience and teach me to listen and receive instructions and directions from you. Lastly, help me to see prayer as a dialogue and not a monologue.

Hebrews 6:10 (NIV) – God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
Abba Father, thank you for the privilege to impart knowledge. I do not take this job for granted because I understand that my destinies are in my hands. So, I ask that you give me the grace to teach these children with great patience.
Help me to love, teach and correct them as I would my children. I humbly ask that you will assist me in helping them. Especially those having academic challenges. Above all, give me the patience to teach according to their learning pace so they can understand.

As believers, God desires that we wait patiently on Him. He says in His word that we inherit the promises only through faith and patience.
